Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than one century. For two seasons, she was the main character of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. The actress has also appeared on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award.
